Explanation of costs
How the costs are structured
The price of childcare depends on the number of childcare hours you purchase and the hourly rate that applies. You pay the gross costs to Espira. Part of this is reimbursed by the government in the form of childcare allowance. What you are left with is your net costs – the amount you ultimately pay yourself.
We work with rates without any small print. That way, you know exactly what is included in the price. You will automatically receive an invoice every month via our parent portal.
Explanation of gross and net costs
Gross and net costs
Gross costs: the amount you pay to Espira for your child's childcare.
Childcare allowance: a government contribution that you apply for yourself at the Tax and Customs Administration.
Net costs: the amount you ultimately pay yourself after deduction of the allowance.

Choose what suits you best
Rates and childcare packages
Every family has different childcare needs. That is why Espira offers a choice of different childcare packages.
Nursery (0–4 years): choose between a 52-week package (childcare throughout the year except public holidays and closing days) or a 40-week package (only during school weeks).
At our nurseries in Amersfoort, you can purchase full days (11 hours) of childcare. At the nursery locations in Bergen op Zoom, Roosendaal, Tholen and Steenbergen, you can purchase full days of childcare as well as half days * of 5.5 hours of childcare. Some locations also offer early childcare.
* Please note: the chance of a parent being offered a half-day place is very small. The child planning department uses a queue system to plan staffing efficiently, which means that half-days may be at the bottom of the list when it comes to offering contracts.
After-school care (BSO, ages 4 to 12): choice of a 52-week package (care throughout the year except public holidays and closing days) or a 40-week package (only during school weeks, excluding holidays). Some locations also offer pre-school care.
These rates apply to each childcare package. This makes it easy to see what suits your family best.

What is included?
What is included in the hourly rate?
At Espira, many costs are already included in the price.
Daycare: Our daycare rates include nappies, fresh fruit, bread meals, drinks/bottle feeding, organised activities, trips and transport.
After-school care: Our after-school care rates include fresh fruit, vegetable snacks and bread meals, organised activities, trips and transport.
Did you know that brothers or sisters of children already enrolled, children of employees and children moving from nursery to after-school care are given priority when it comes to enrolment?
Childcare allowance
Calculate, apply for or change childcare allowance
You can apply for childcare allowance yourself via the Tax and Customs Administration. You should do this as soon as you have signed the childcare contract and your child has a BSN number. Do this within three months of the start of childcare, otherwise you will lose out on money.
If there are any changes in your situation – for example, your income, number of childcare hours or family composition – please report this immediately via mijn.toeslagen.nl. This will prevent you from having to repay money later or losing your allowance.
National Childcare Register
LRK number of your location
To apply for childcare allowance, you will need the LRK number for your location. You can find this on your childcare contract on the location pages on our website.
