Location details

Espira Childcare centre De Blokkentrein

Espira Daycare Center De Blokkentrein is a childcare facility in Roosendaal in the Langdok/Centrum neighborhood, close to the Stationsbuurt. The daycare center is within walking distance of both the train station and the city center and is directly adjacent to the Fridtjof Nansen scouting club and De Blokwei primary school. Thanks to this central location, parks such as Park Vrouwenhof are within easy reach. This is an ideal place for children to play outside and discover nature.

The children enjoy playing outside in the nature garden or going on adventures in nature.

Our De Blokkentrein childcare location offers both daycare and after-school care (BSO). Everything is under one roof, which is ideal for families with children of different ages.

Our Child care centre

“Every day is different—in the conversations we have with children, the activities we do together, and how we respond to each child's needs. We have a permanent team, so all the children know all the educational professionals. This creates a sense of security and a positive connection. The personal contact and the ability to adapt to each child's development are what make our work so rewarding. Every single day.”

Care groups at the location

Care groups at the location

Our daycare center has three groups, with kids sorted based on their age and development:

  1. The Quiet Corner – baby group (0-2 years, max. 10 kids)
Specially trained baby specialists follow the rhythm of the littlest ones. They can play and explore safely, both indoors and in the special baby garden.

  2. Eerste Klas – toddler group (18 months-2.5 years, max. 9 children)
Toddlers are introduced to fixed rituals, such as the start of the day. This structure prepares them for the preschool group in a playful way.

  3. The Locomotive – toddler group (2.5-4 years, max. 16 children)
For the oldest toddlers, we use the same observation method as De Blokwei primary school. This ensures a smooth transition to school.
A day at the daycare centre

This is what a day at looks Espira ‘De Blokkentrein’ like

De Blokkentrein
Good morning & bring

Good morning! Just a quick hug for mom or dad and a chat. Then we'll start the day together.

De Blokkentrein
Day start in the circle

The group starts together in a circle. We go over what the day will bring, sing a song, or read a book—a cheerful start to the day.

De Blokkentrein
Fruit moment

Then your child eats fresh fruit at the table—a pleasant moment to laugh, talk, and enjoy each other's company. Some babies take a nap after this.

De Blokkentrein
Playing outside and exploring

In the morning, the children spend as much time as possible outside. They ride their bikes, build sandcastles, look for leaves, or discover all there is to see. Being outside is part of every day at Espira—with plenty of room for free play and their own discoveries.

De Blokkentrein
Lunch

Around noon, the children eat a sandwich lunch and drink water or milk. It is a quiet and pleasant moment where they pay attention to each other.

De Blokkentrein
Rest period / sleep

After lunch, it's time to rest. Some children sleep, others listen to a story or look at a book. No obligations, just relaxation.

De Blokkentrein
Drink and healthy snack break (after rest)

When the children wake up, they eat fresh vegetable snacks and have something to drink together. This way, the afternoon starts quietly, with renewed energy.

De Blokkentrein
Afternoon activities

In the afternoon, there is time for a group activity—such as making music, building, or crafting—and for free play. Your child plays alone or with others, often outdoors. This way, play naturally turns into learning.

De Blokkentrein
Drink and healthy snack break (afternoon)

After all the playing and fun, we have a drink together and eat a healthy snack.

De Blokkentrein
Rest moment and closing together

At the end of the afternoon, we take a break and sit down together at the table to enjoyably conclude the day. After that, we can play freely for a while, either outside or inside, or quietly read a book together.

De Blokkentrein
Pick up

After a brief, warm handover, it's time to go home again—with a smile and a head full of stories.

How children grow at Espira

Play, discover, and grow naturally

At Espira, children can be themselves in a safe and loving environment. We go outside every day—rain or shine—because nature is our second home, where children can discover the world with all their senses. We lay a solid foundation with healthy food, plenty of exercise, and sufficient rest. Our educational professionals see learning opportunities in everything and give children the confidence to fall, get up, and try again. This helps children grow up with self-confidence, a sense of responsibility, and a love for the world around them.
